Make a Difference

I have a friend named Noah. He has problems with Bullies. I think bullies SUCK. They have no meaning except for destroying the lives of people like Noah. VICTIMS. Noah wanted to fit in but, bullies wouldn't let him. Sucks, right? Exactly. He is the reason I am making this blog. We need to take a stand. Start a freaking revolution! Don't let bullies push anyone around. Tell your friends and family to stand up. They need to know they are not wanted. Even kids as young as 8 should take a stand. STOP BULLIES before it is too late. Problem #2. Don't let others change who you are just because they don't like it. Be who you are, because there is nothing wrong with it. You are special. Don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise. Also, defend any one getting bullied. Don't just stand by. Stand up. Be who you are spread this post with everyone. We can make a team. We can make a difference. DO SO. And help me show Noah, life is worth spending with the ones you love. The ones that love you and the ones that accept you for who you are.

I am only 11 years old which proves that anyone can step up. You guys are amazing just for reading this. I hope this lets you know all of the problems with people these days. Thank you for reading this! Now more people can stand up to these atrocities we call bullies! I will make sure Noah hears of all of your positive comments. Step up with me! Children die every year from self-harm. Do not let that happen to you or a friend. Things get better! You will make a tremendous mistake by thinking otherwise. You have friends and people who love you! Always remember it. Bullies just want to make you forget. Do not let them. Stand up. Visit this site for more information: http://store.lifetributes.com/store/grief-books-for-teens/bullying-suicide-and-homicide

Don't get me wrong, bullies are horrible, but that is because they have horrible parents. Bullies have a crappy life at home so they make others feel the same. Give them a chance to change. Otherwise you would be bullying them, which would make you no different. It is their choice to change, so make them realize what they are doing, you would be surprised who could change. Thank you for all of your positivity! Noah will love it and hopefully feel better. Join the revolution, Step up!

  1. We all three definitely agree with this, Gavin. We are next door neighbors with Noah and it was horrible to comprehend what had happened to him. Nobody should have to go through anything like what Noah did, and we agree with you that BULLIES SUCK!!! It's important to make a difference in our community -- and all of the communities in the world -- to Change for Noah and make every kid feel like They Matter and It Does Get Better. Good job to you for having the guts to post this!

  7. I want to say to Noah,,Don't give up,, Bullies are the weak ones, They must feed on a persons vulnerabilities to feel strong and Superior.
Teenagers do not have it easy these days . so much negativity in a world where young people think they are disposible, and this just isn't true,, Noah you loved and it would break so many hearts to lose you ,, this would be a pain no one could ever get over,,, i have had the misfortune to see in the eyes of a tormented mother wondering what she could have done to prevent this and the pain is there the rest of their lives,,,,
You are important Noah, you can be anything you want to be the world is yours, Embrace all that is good!

  8. How wise you are, Gavin. I'm glad Noah has a great friend like you. It gives me confidence in youth when I see people like you standing up for others.
I hope the bullies realize the error of their ways. Sometimes it takes many years before they get more mature and then they feel sorry for how badly they treated other people. I hope these bullies change their ways soon, and I hope Noah is feeling better, knowing people like you support him.

  10. When my father was a little boy, a neighborhood bully punched him in the mouth, permanently damaging his teeth. At school, other bullies ridiculed him daily for his acne. Every time my dad approaches a drinking fountain, he still flinches, worried that someone will slam his head down into the basin. He's in his 70's.

But my dad overcame his Bully Years. He grew up to become a doctor. A dad. A man.

You can do it, Noah. I just know it.

  26. If Noah ever thinks no one cares, he only needs to look at this website to see how much his friend Gavin and all the commenters care. You are a great friend, Gavin. You are a wonderful person, Noah, with a lot of people who care about you.

  27. Gavin it is so nice to see people at your age that really care about someone and willing to stand up for them. YES, if you see someone being bullied, step in. stop them and remember what if that were you wouldn't you want someone to help. I don't care if you think its a cool kid doing it. He or She is not COOL if they pick on others just to make themselves feel better. MY OATH TODAY. I will refuse to allow anyone to bully anyone else. If I see it I will stand up and HELP the person being bullied. WE DON"T WANT YOU BULLIES AND WE WILL STOP YOU! Noah, we love you and hang in there see you have people that care. Look what Gavin has done just for you to help you know you are truly not alone. Life is waiting for you to live to the fullest and YOU can be the one who changes the bullies and helps others, because you know how it feels. We will be there beside you fighting too.

  28. Bullies are a challenge: do we take action and wipe out the bully completely and decisively (the kind of thing that happens when tragedies make the news)? or do we find other ways to resist and overcome their torture?

One thing I am certain of; anyone who bullies someone else is unable to cope with their own personality and psychological problems. THEY NEED HELP but they aren't getting it. It may be because they don't want to admit that they need help. Or because they don't know how to find help. Or there may be other reasons.

I don't believe we can ever completely eradicate the problem of bullying, but we can work on the problems of individual bullies.

  33. Hello Noah, I am a human being just like you. I know about bullies and being bullied. It hurts when someone singles you out and pukes their hate all over you, it does more than hurt, it changes you as a person, if you allow it to. I do not have the answer to stop it from happening. I came from old school, I stopped my aggressor by kicking his butt. NOT cool. When I was growing up violence was accepted, it was the way I was raised. Today it is a different world. I will ask you to find love and forgiveness in your heart. My daughter has been dealing with bullies for two years now. She is growing into a strong eleven year old. She still has to deal with this on a daily basis. We as parents have tried many approaches to stop it at her school. We have not succeeded. Yet through support from her mom and friends as well as learning what makes a bully do the things they do has helped her to grow into a forgiving and understanding person who realizes that in the end love always wins. You are love and the light shines in you.

  34. Gavin:
What a great friend Noah has in you, to stand up for your friend and fight for him with your words.. is so special. Tell Noah for us here in Wisconsin that we are praying for him. Tell him that he should never feel less than perfect.. Because that is how God made him. Perfect.. We are sending all of our love and support your way. My little boy suffers from low self esteem and he hurts himself. I suffer and hurt for him when I see this happening to him. Love and strength to you and to Noahs family and Noah.. Be the change you want to see in this world...Ghandi..

  37. You are exactly what Noah needs...a good friend who has his back. Now, thanks to you and Noah's Mom, there are hundreds of us out here who ALSO have his back (and yours :) Yes, bullies SUCK! I was bullied in high school 34 years ago and will never forget. The thing to know though is, I got through it and went on into the big wonderful world to have a fantastic life filled with success and so many friends I cannot count them! The bully who made my freshman year hell never amounted to anything...far as I know she's still serving fries at Mcdonalds :) Bullys do what they do because it makes them feel like they are cool...but they aren't...they SUCK! Keep up the great work Gavin!

  40. Awesome job Gavin! Not only do we need to get rid of the bullies, but we need all those people who just stand by and watch, to get off their butts and DO SOMETHING! Sometimes I think that the only reason we have bullies is because other people don't join together and tell them that their behavior is unacceptable, and their actions make them look like like idiots.
Thank you for starting this Gavin. You are a wonderful example of how people should be.
And to Noah, hang in there, don't ever let anyone tell you who to be. That's up you and you alone. We're rooting for you Noah!

  41. Way to be an upstander Gavin! Noah - raise your head up high and remember that you are special. It may be hurtful now but you will emerge stronger and a bigger person than these bullies. Hoping you feel the love from across the world right now!

  42. Wow, Gavin - well said! It really isn't good enough to just think about the bully issue - we have to speak out about it. You're obviously both a great person and excellent friend.

Noah - Growing up in the 1970's, I was bullied in school for being skinny, for being brown, for being gay, for just simply being different. It was a really, really hard time in my life, and many times I wished I could just end it all. But I didn't. I knew how that choice would so badly hurt all the people that loved me, so I pushed through. I believed in my heart that if I could get through things would get better, and slowly they did.

At that time, I hated those bullies, but I finally saw them for who they were in my early 20's. One guy who had really tormented me showed up for an interview for a job I was hiring for. It was a really entry level job, but he was desperate and in need. The way he'd lived his life had left him in a dead end place. In that interview, I saw him for the scared, insecure little boy that he was, and instead of hatred, I felt compassion and forgiveness for him. I hired him for that job. He knew what he'd done to me, and was amazed that I hired him, but I know that by being a loving person,I may have changed his life.

It gets better, Noah and Gavin - WAY BETTER! Life is absolutely amazing if you let it be. Push through the hard times and know that you are loved! :)

  43. I know a kid named Noah. He is one of the coolest kids I know. He is a huge part of a great soccer team. I know for a fact that EVERYONE on the Soccer team of the Noah that I know, think he is awesome. I look forward to seeing Noah every season. He is trying to master the bicycle kick. He might have the chance to pull off a score with it this season. If these bullies saw how the Noah I know can kick a ball, they would not mess with him. It would be like trying to paint the toe nails of a kangaroo. You just don't try to do it! I am going to make sure that I will incorporate some lessons from you, Gavin, into my coaching this coming season.

  44. Gavin, this is a beautiful thing you're doing and you are awesome. It is really important that Noah knows there are people around him who genuinely care about him, and not just those who've linked into his story.

One of my daughters former classmates committed suicide recently. Someone made and RIP page for him, and it was flooded with memories, condolences for the family, and messages to him. It made me sad to think that all these young people looked up to him, liked him, all these lives he'd so positively touched and he probably never knew it.

Encourage your friends to encourage each other, to let the people who are important to them know, or to at least say thank you for the little things...

    Blessings to you Gavin. :)

  47. Hey Gavin,

Awesome job! You are a thoroughly awesome guy. I assume you know this already, but no-one can hear it too much, so here it is again in black and white: A1* First class bloke!

I can see why you and Noah are friends.

  49. Gavin, you rock! You have one heck of a mature head on your shoulders for being only 11, let me tell you that. Noah's lucky to have you as a friend. He's stronger because of that, even if he doesn't know it.

As a message for Noah, and really for all bullied kids, DO NOT LISTEN to bullies; nothing they say is true; every word they say is only a reflection of how they feel about themselves. They feel so small that they have to stomp on others to feel a little taller. TAKE MARTIAL ARTS LESSONS!!! They can save your life in the event of an attack, and they not only teach you self-defense, but your self-esteem gets built up and it's harder for bullies to get to you with hurtful words.

Heaven bless you, Gavin, you're going to get far in life. ♥

  50. Gavin, God is very proud of you young man for stepping out and up to the plate for your friend Noah. It takes courage. It is the epitome of love and respect.

To your friend Noah…You are loved by your family, friends and most importantly God. There is a story here, one to be shared with many by you for a long time to come. Don’t let anyone push you around or make you feel worthless or inferior; because they say it doesn't mean it is true. Lest we remember that a bully is usually being bullied by someone else or there are other factors no one is aware of going on in the home, but it doesn’t make it right. As hard as it might be, show the bully you aren’t afraid. Be kind, it will chip away at the tough exterior so sooner or later the bully will fade away to expose the boy or girl for that matter. Noah, God isn’t finished with you by a long-shot. He has a special purpose for you here on earth! Log your thoughts and experiences in a personal journal, He will show you the way. Seek guidance from your parents when 'life' gets too hard to bear. If for some reason they aren't "hearing" you, go to your Grandparents, or Aunt or Uncle. There is nothing wrong with confiding in adults that you know and trust.

Your fried Gavin is awesome and I suspect you two will remain friends for life!

    Bless you Noah!

  51. If everyone being bullied had a friend like Gavin we might see fewer children in so much pain. My daughter was bullied and beaten up. Concussion, two chipped teeth, a broken nose and bruised orbit. The bullying started in November, she was beaten in March and the bullying continued into the next school year with no help from school administration. We moved from Indiana to Maryland to start over and give my daughter some peace of mind. I watched this girl slowly destroy my child. My daughter had also cut herself. Bullies are angry people who prey on others. Until the parents, school administration, law enforcement and our legal system see this as the problem it truly is our children will continue to suffer. I pray somehow we can open their eyes.

Gavin, you are a strong and loyal friend to publicly make a statement for Noah. Hugs to both of you and may God richly bless you!
